Award Winning Production for the City of Rancho Cucamonga

The Health RC Youth Leaders of Rancho Cucamonga received the 1st place award in the state and county in the Directing Change Program and Video Contest!!

HD Production Inc sent Rancho Cucamonga local video producer Michael Serrano, who helped produce this project. The team helped make the production great.

The film, written and directed by the Healthy RC Youth Leaders, is called La Ropa Sucia – or “Dirty Laundry” and discusses the cultural stigma of mental health.

The message of the Healthy RC Youth Leaders is that “It’s OK to Air Your Dirty Laundry” and shed light to mental health awareness for the entire community. These empowered middle and high school volunteers scripted, filmed, and created a brief public service announcement for the statewide Directing Change Film Competition.

They filmed the bilingual video at Alta Loma High School and will find out in the next few months if they will be recognized for a county or statewide award for the category of Through the Lens of Culture.

The message of the film aims to inspire teens to make a difference and openly share about mental health issues with a friend or by calling the suicide hotline 1-800-273-8255. This video is part of Healthy RC’s broader campaign Your Mind Matters and strategy to promote breaking mental health stigma and bringing accessible, culturally appropriate mental health resources to the community.
